Found a leaf while taking a lunchtime walk around the Common. After finding my leaf, I began to pay a lot more attention to everybody walking past the leaves to see who would notice the text and who would stop to look. Of all the people I passed, nobody stopped and this made me rather sad.
Saw many of the leaves. At first, I saw they had been stamped with something, then noticed a lot more and finally picked one up to check it out. People were definitely noticing them and several people had picked them up and were carrying them with them.
I hope the ink is biodegradable…

I think that this is so impressive. I stole one of the leaves. It kind of made my day to see such refreshing creativity. I’ll be sharing it with my marketing class.
Update: My marketing class, especially the teacher did love this idea. They, like me, thought it was the most creative thing that they’ve seen in a really long time. It’s extremely clever and eye catching. And it works, after all it’s what brought me here and I showed everyone I know.
LOVED finding your leaves this morning. I took three — hope that wasn’t too greedy. But I thought I showed some restraint, as I can think of dozens of people I’d like to share them with!
If you are looking for more excellent large, flat leaves (yellow) for stamping, check out the corner of the Public Garden by Arlington and Boylston. I may go back at lunch to pick up some leaves for a leaf project of my own.
Thanks for the tip Rebecca, I’ll check out that location when the weather clears up. With all the billions of leaves falling, you’d think it’d be a cinch to find “good” leaves for stamping everywhere… Not so! They need to be a certain size and color (or value is more accurate… ) to show off the ink stamp.
I was just handed one of your leaves by a coworker. What a clever idea.
Really the best idea ever!
Where’s your next location? I want to see the leaves.
I found one of your leaves on my way home from campus. It was a beautiful small leaf that said Today’s Special, and I didn’t know whether you intended to advertise some sort of a product or whether you meant it as an uplifting message to passersby like me. I like to think it’s the latter.
I hope to be surprised by more 0f your leaves around Boston soon!
I found my leaf while strolling through the common on Friday. Visiting friends in Boston and we were all very impressed and intrigued by the leaf! Great idea and something creative and different. My leaf will be coming back to Ireland with me!
Found a leaf (alot of leaves) on Winter Street, in Downtown Crossing.
Great Idea (:
My friend posted a picture of his leafamessage leaf on facebook. Don’t know where he found it. Really cool.
Found many leaves this morning and took some pictures! This was on Winter Street just by the Common. Thanks!
I had taken my daughter to Boston for the forst time..she is 7…we were walking in the Common to go see the Ducks…she looks down and said mommy the leaf has something on it! This is very cool! I think it was the highlight of our trip!! Boston is a wonderful city and we had an amazing time! She wishes we could live there!!!
found a ton outside the Cyclorama- I took one home, dipped it in beeswax to preserve and along with a few others made a lovely fall garland. See!?
I thought this was such a great idea- it certainly brought smiles to our faces!
Connie!
Sounds like the drunker people got at the beerfest, the better the leaves looked.
Thanks for taking notice, and for including Leaf A Message on your blog

Saw your leaves next to Hamersley’s. Captivated, I was turning leaves over. Along came 30-something Father with son. “Dad? Why are there words on these leaves?” (Father, of course, had not noticed…) Father and son began examining leaves, and Father came up with a theory: “Well, you know those candy hearts you get for Valentine’s Day? These trees are doing just that!” Listening in, I was also perusing the leaves, when I found one marked “Be Mine!” Handing it to Father, I said: “Well then, THIS leaf is for YOU.”
A moment I will never forget. The power of ART !!
